Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been more HIV mortality rates in Sub-Saharan Africa, due to reduced quality health care services and low access to Anti-Retroviral treatment and counselling. People living with HIV need to follow all necessary precautions to protect themselves from COVID-19; however, older people living with HIV or people living with HIV with heart or lung problems may be at a higher risk of becoming infected with the virus and suffer more serious symptoms.
