NIBUCAA Trains NYSC members as Peer Educator Trainers

In partnership with the National Youth Service Scheme, The Nigerian Business Coalition Against AIDS trained the Batch A, Stream 1 and Stream 2 Corp members at the Lagos State NYSC orientation camp to become Peer Educator Trainers. Over eighty Corp members graduated from the training and were presented as Master Trainers. The empowerment program orientated the participants on Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV & AIDS, Life building skills amongst others. The Corp members were given the mandate to train secondary school students to become change agents among their peers, immediate families, and communities.

In attendance was the Lagos State Camp Coordinator who applauded NIBUCAA for facilitating such intensive training to build the capacity of the Corp members, so they could contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS. He encouraged the Corps members to be a good role model wherever they are posted to, as that is their primary place of assignment to effect change. Others Present were the NIBUCAA team and other Camp Officials. The event was capped with a rally within the camp where the participants distributed IEC materials and condoms to their fellow Peers and camp officials.
